I had surgery some months ago, in an outpatient surgery center. It was sinus surgery. When I woke from the anesthesia, I had excruciating pain my rectum. I was screaming about the pain in my rectum and jumping all over the bed. Then I felt I needed to have a BM. The nurses hurried me onto a bedpan, but I didn't need it after all. The pain subsided fairly quickly, I would say, in about twenty minutes. I have no bowel or rectum problems. Can anyone explain this?
Thank you.
Not sure
There is an anti-emetic (anti-nausea) medication called dexamethasone, often given routinely, that is described to cause groin pain if given too quickly. Not sure about rectal pain.
Thank you. At least I have a possible explanation now. I have had severe diarrhea ever since. It has made me wonder what could have happened.
