I'm not quite ready to buy an anesthesia machine yet, but I am in the process of starting an office -based anesthesia business.  I have some questions. Did you supply your own drugs? If so, how did you acquire them? Thanks.

I gave spinal anaesthesia  to a 36 year old undergoing caeserian section. 25 gauge needle used.  Intra-operative single episode of hypotension managed with ephedrine. Postoperative patient developed post-spinal headache which was managed conservatively but lasted up to 5th day postoperative.  After the headaches resolved patient now complains of diplopia. Any ideas what is going on? I asked patient to come back for CT Scan but seems unwilling.

General Discussion / Propofol sedation for GI endos...
Last post by CAP - June 12, 2013, 04:59:06 AM
A large part of my practice involves providing sedation for GI endoscopy and our physician group mainly uses propofol as a sole agent for sedation.  I suspect this is a common practice as anesthesia providers are becoming more involved in the GI endoscopy sedation.  However,  I cannot find any anesthesiology "endorsed" or printed information from the ASA or any anesthesia related journals specifically addressing or reviewing the dosing guidelines for propofol in this setting.  Nor can I find any outcome studies from an anesthesia standpoint using this particular technique.  There are tons of articles and guidelines from the gastroenterology provider side, most of it not favorable for anesthesiologist administered sedation.

Can anyone please direct me to right resources?

Very nice article about use of mobile phones in operation theaters. We also not use these devices in our operation theater during hair transplant treatment.
