I have observed a sympathetic response to high inspired concentrations of desflurane (increased heart rate etc). Has anyone observed severe bronchospasm? (In which, obviously, direct bronchodilation is overcome by the airway irritation).
I have never seen bronchospam as a result of desflurane use. If anything, a sympathetic stimulation should PROTECT a patient from bronchospasm. Laryngospasm is another matter. :-\
