I realy wonder if Roc gives pain or not. I do not know if any one ever injects Roc before sedatives or Propofol
I for one has never done so. If at all why roc and not Profol or Medaz or even Ranitidine or some Antibiotics given before Roc may be responsible for it.
I certainly would like to know if it pains.
Every conference and journal writes about pain after Propofol. Always every one mentions about adding Xylocain in it and injecting.
I have always given Propofol after Fent and Medaz etc, and never has anyone complained about pain. In small vains it does give pain but off late, no one has complained, may be our way of injecting too has changed.

sir,
i have never experienced this, but literature suggests rocuronium pain ,it can be prevented by prior use of lignocaine ,1.5-2 mg /kg body weight IV or use of ephedrine.regards

Both Roc and Propofol produce pain on injection. But not in everybody - huge inter-individual variability.
I have seen it even after giving Fent and lignocard
as a routine i usually premix 1.5 mg/kg of lignocard with the necessay dose of propofol
I see no purpose in giving Roc before propofol because its onset matches Suxa

Slow onset drugs like Vec and Atra are either given completely before induction ( Timing technique) or atleast after a partial induction dose ( Priming technique) because since onsets are slow we save the induction agents to ensure adequate plane of anaesthesia during induction.

Well, as I know, 2 ml of Lidocaine 1% given before injection is also sufficient.
