Title: blended anesthesia vs epidural anesthesia:
Post by: Dr. Barzoi Giorgio on March 15, 2006, 09:28:07 PM
Hello! I am Giorgio. Many times, I found myself discussing with collegues about epidural anesthesia vs blended anesthesia (epidural + general anesthesia). The common elements that born out are: surgical time (> 90 min.), trendelenburg position, major abdominal surgery, pediatric surgery, etc.
I was just wondering what could be the opinion of this exitamated mainling group about this topic, and above all if other elements (i.e. better treatment of intraoperative complication, - bledding, vagal stimulation-) can help us, in choosing the better technique.
Thanks for your contribute.

Buongiorno Dr Barzoi,
cordiali saluti
e mille grazie per la sua attenzione

Can some one please translate this article or reply in English? At least in India I do not understand this language, which ever it must be. I certainly would like to know the article.

best indication for Epi-GA would be extensive visceral surgery wherein the two techniques supplement and complement each other.

BEST USE OF EA+GA IN LAPROSCOPY MAJOR SURGERY e.g. LAP.CHOLE, LAP. FUDAL PLICATION. YOU CAN CONTROL INTRA. OP. BP/P/IAP  VERYWELL. LESS SEDATION REQUIRE & POST OP. ANALGESIA EXELLANT. FOR LAP. HYSTRECTOMY IT IS THE CHOICE OF ANAEST.
