Hi,
I am an CRNA at a busy hospital that does extended D&E s (patient is over 12 weeks pregnant). For years we have always consider anyone over 12 weeks a full stomach and gave general anesthesia. We now have several attendings who are insisting on local sedation--on 12-15 week pregnancies for D&E . Just curious what others are doing--I tried to track down ASA guidelines but no luck. Thanks for your help
