Just to get an idea, based on the above info, what would be your minimum recovery time before discharging the patient HOME.  Assuming DC criteria are met in that amount of time.

Would love to hear you opinions and similar experiences.

Good question, it's been a while so did you find the answer?

I'm going to buy Ventilator KMV 5010 . Maybe there is someone who had experience with it. Need your advice. Is it really easy to use with simple menus, easy to enter and lock clinical menu and a secure patient menu?

If you are looking for an BiPAP Machines (both,used/new), you should check this website

I bought some (BMC MEDICAL CO RESmart, PHILIPS DreamStation, PHILIPS RESPIRONICS DreamStation DSX600T11 and PHILIPS RESPIRONICS DreamStation DSX700T11) equipment there - they have good servicing, normal prices and everything is simple in using. And what I think is the most important thing - providing warranty

I do a blog where I put down a bunch of random thoughts that occur to me during long days spent in surgery.  Part of my blog is a regular series on movies that have some sort of anesthesia-related content.  I was very surprised when I saw this movie recently.  Needless to say I wasn't expecting to be writing about it...

Best C-section scene to come out of Hollywood!

Feel free to check out the rest of the blog as well.  Lots and lots of random anesthesia musings.  Thanks!

Hi,

I am a nurse and just recently started practicing in a surgical ICU. I went online and searched for informations with regards to what exactly and when does one use propofol or dexmedetomidine in sedating patients in critical care settings? I mean i noticed it varies but I was not able to get  any related literatures for what type of patients is it used and what cases are considered? Hope you can help me with this as I need to present a mini lecture on sedation tomorrow. Thanks a bunch

Hi all...
We have a plastic surgeon at our facility that has been recently adding longer and longer, multi-procedure cases.
An example would be:
1- Abdominoplasty
2- Liposuction of the flanks and thighs
3- Submental (Neck) Liposuction
4- Rhinoplasty
5- Blepharoplasty

Takes about 5 to 7 hours.
Patients are usually female with BMI's of 35+, between 40-60 years old, ASA 2 at most (typically HTN).

Anesthesia is GETA, Desflurane, Fentanyl.  He does put in a pain pump for the abdominoplasty.

Just to get an idea, based on the above info, what would be your minimum recovery time before discharging the patient HOME.  Assuming DC criteria are met in that amount of time.

Would love to hear you opinions and similar experiences.
