General Discussion / Wanted: used (military) draw-o...
Last post by rothigro - March 24, 2019, 12:54:58 PM
Hi there,

For a humanitarian project in Bangladesh I need a pair of used halothane draw-over vaporizers, like those formerly used by the military in England and the USA (Tri-service anaesthetic apparatus, the Ohmeda universal portable anesthesia circuit or similar like the Oxford Minature Vaporizer). I could not find these on Ebay or elsewhere on the internet. Who knows a source for these or other used draw-over vaporizers?

Thanks!

Robbin

Regional Anesthesia / Re: Nerve blocks under GA
Last post by drockline - October 20, 2018, 07:41:22 AM
A nerve block decreases your pain during and after surgery.  It is more effective than pain medications through the IV.  Because you have less pain, you will need less oral or IV pain medications, even though you have the medications available to you.  Supplement reviews You will have fewer side effects of pain medications, such as respiratory depression, itching, nausea, and somnolence.  In addition, you may be able to avoid a general anesthesia.   Sometimes, a nerve block is done in addition to a general anesthesia for pain relief after the surgery.

Do you find having a study partner works better than studying solo? I've never had a study partner before, but I'm kind of open to it.

I want to know what other endo or ambulatory care centers do in regards to the routine use of IVF. Recently it has been proposed to only use IVF on patients who meet certain criteria as well as at the discretion of the anesthetist. Thank you!

Hi there. I am a managing partner of a 25 person group in eastern Long Island. We are rapidly expanding into surgical centers and growing in the hospital which explains the need for strong anesthesiologists . Competitive salary, excellent benefits and opportunity for advancement. We are NOT NAPA.

I come to this discussion somewhat late in the day (having only just joined the forum) but Walter has hit the nail on the head, with his posts about the possible long-term effects of childhood mask-induced anaesthetisation. A very perceptive assessment of a very real situation for some of us, if I may say so (many of us, I suspect). I have long tried to understand it and failed, and I have yet to see a medical definition or professional explanation.  Perhaps it is indeed one for the psychologists, rather than the anaesthetists? So my advice is to make the most of it and enjoy it whilst you can – whatever turns you on. (The kit is readily available on e-bay, after all .....!)
